Carlton Park Update (Elizabeth Finch School)

The playground is finally coming!!

That’s right, you read that correctly. The City has finally approved our NPDP funding which is the last piece of the puzzle to build Phase 1 of the playground!

Construction is slated for Spring/Summer 2012. An official construction date has not been released so please check back to the website regularly for updates.

We need your help with construction

This project will require volunteers to help with the building of some of the playground equipment. We did not have enough funding to hire a contractor to do this for us so we need YOU to help. If you are tool handy, have a pair of steel toed boots and can spare a few hours to help out please contact Lynn Mcleod at (780) 456-7758 to sign up!

We will also need people to supply food and refreshments for all our hard-working volunteers. If you would like to help by providing a donation for the purchase of food, or if you have a yummy recipe you would like to prepare, please contact Lynn Mcleod at (780) 456-7758 to sign up!

Homeowners' Efforts Build Community Playgrounds

Out on the edges of Edmonton, playgrounds are a big issue. Developers put in the roads, sewer lines and electricity — the homes have sidewalks without cracks, and sometimes pathways to a stormwater lake. Home buyers get maps that point out where schools and playgrounds are planned to go, but the slides and swings don’t come until the neighbours band together and start the process.
