COCL Fundraising Policy

Please read, as the contents have been updated to reflect the fundraising policy communicated on the COCL sports registration forms:

All sports registrants are required to fulfil fundraising commitments – one commitment per child, per sport. A $200 undated fundraising cheque is required at the time of registration for each commitment. Cheques will be held until a designated fundraising commitment (such as a Bingo, Bottle Drive, or other event) has been worked. Fundraising dates are offered at the time of registration.

You will be assigned a fundraiser at the time of registration. If you don't do the fundraiser that was assigned at registration, then your cheque will be cashed.

The COCL executive has the option to reassign designated fundraisers in the case of event cancellations.

Please remember that it is YOUR responsibility to remember the fundraiser dates. An attempt will be made to remind individuals of fundraising dates as a courtesy. Ultimately it is your responsibility to remember.

2012 Casino

COCL will be working a casino, May 20th and 21st at Casino Yellowhead (12464 – 153 Street) to raise money for activities and amenities in your community. Volunteers are needed!

 

Positions for each day

Banker (10:30 am – 7pm OR 6:30 pm – 3 am)

Casher (11:30 am – 7:00 pm OR 6:30 pm – 2:30 am)

Chip runner (11:30 am – 7:00 pm OR 6:45 pm – 2:30 am)

Countroom (9:45 pm – 2:45 am)

Benches for the Park

The Carlton Park and Playground Committee is looking for community-minded corporations to take part in a special program our community.  “Benches for the Park” is a program that provides individuals or corporations a unique opportunity to purchase a park bench at Carlton Park (13815-160 Ave at Elizabeth Finch School). The price of the bench with the plaque is $1200.00.

 

If you or your company sponsors a bench, your generous donation will be commemorated on a beautiful bronze plaque engraved with your family or company name on the bench for all to see.

 

There are a limited number of benches available. To reserve your bench or for more information please contact, Nicole Mozak at (780)421-7172 or nicole.mozak@shaw.ca.

 

Please help out your community and sponsor your future playground!! All donations are tax deductible. Program runs until March 15, 2012.

Spring Bottle Drive

Our next bottle drive is on Sunday May 6, 2012 from 9am-3pm. Please mark the date on your calendars and save all your returnable beverage containers.

You can drop bottles off on the day of the bottle drive at Elizabeth Finch School (13815 160 Avenue), put them on your front step for our volunteers to pick up, or just answer the door when we come knocking!

These bottle drives have played an important part of our playground fundraising with a total amount of over $15,000 raised to date! So thank you for your past and continued support!

Bingo

Parents/guardians of sports registrants can fulfil their fundraising commitments by volunteering to work a Bingo. COCL typically works Bingos at the Castledowns Bingo Hall (12222 137 Ave). For full information about Bingo locations, schedules and procedures, check out our Bingo page.
